What’s happening?

A 2013 study found that medical mistakes contribute to the deaths of more than 400,000 Americans a year. That’s the equivalent of two fully loaded jumbo jets crashing, with no survivors, every single day, and it makes medical error the third leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer.
